My Amazing Wife

Currents of Change

I’ve already talked a bit about My Talented Wife on this blog, but that was before she had her gallery opening and a separate gallery talk. Her first gallery show, hosted by our church The Village Chapel, opened in March. It is one thing to see the paintings on the easel and in the house, but it is quite another level of appreciation when you see them displayed on a gallery wall. Here is a view that gives you some idea of the opening crowd.

And here is a panoramic shot that tries to show you all the paintings in one shot (click for larger version).

She has sold five paintings so far and has received an additional commission, making this a significant business for her and not just a hobby.

As part of showing your paintings, the artist is also invited to give a talk at the Creatives Arts Pot Luck evening about their art and their story.

Currents PotluckKymberlee’s mom, my parents, and several of Kymberlee’s friends were in attendanceĀ to support her and hear her amazing story of how painting helped her bond with her new home here in Nashville, melding her previous places with her new place. For those who weren’t able to make it, here is a 15 minute video that captures most of her inspiring talk.

During the event, I remember someone remarking that not only was she an artist, she is also a psychotherapist, a social worker, and a singer-songwriter. I am extremely lucky to call her my wife and have her be the mother of my child. Now I just hope she will do a painting for me!

If you are interested in her work, you can see all of them here (click for slideshow):
